I did not see my boyfriend for two months, even though we are in the same city and a half-hour drive apart. That dilemma triggered me to perform a Google search: how to date an entrepreneur. I landed on a heartwarming post, which totally lightened me up. Most people do not understand the reality of dating an entrepreneur, and it is a sweet reality I am learning to enjoy. Entrepreneurs are highly driven. They meet people all the time. They do not sleep; they have odd ideas at odd hours, and they need a lot of space and time to think and to strategize. Be prepared to have a lot of “me” time. Sometimes you read a book, or you listen to a sad song, and you want to talk to someone, but he is not there. You need to be comfortable being with yourself, developing your own passion, honing your skills and navigating your way toward your goals, just as he does.

Hi I’m Bertie, this column is basically a place for me to call bullshit on girl related things I think are stupid. Who’s heard of a website called Elite Daily? You know the types, those single-minded entrepreneurs who dream of being Zuckerberg, but will probably prove to be so hopeless at attaining the status they crave, that their thirties will be spent living in the same garage as their rented Jaguars. Not being a male, an entrepreneur or desperately, desperately lonely, I was unaware of Elite Daily’s existence until I was directed towards their list of “The 20 Mistakes You Don’t Want to Make in Your 20s”.

But whad’ya know, it turns out the world wide web is still determined to devolve into a series of terrible ideas separated into 20 sections. That said, being both in my twenties and intensely neurotic, I found myself scrolling through with marginal interest. Reading on, I realised that the people behind Elite Daily aren’t content with being careerist sociopaths themselves, but are churning out loads of ” motivational self-help” articles in an attempt to breed an army of ruthless, immoral, millionaire loners.

Wanna enjoy yourself later in life, free from the pressures of money, a boss and other people’s bullshit emotions? Then don’t let “bottle whores”, “expensive sneakers” or “bitchy girlfriends who give bad head” drag you down in your twenties. Here are three more mistakes that Elite Daily really don’t want men to make in their twenties. Sure it seems like the right thing to do, but your 20s are entirely too crucial for your personal growth for you to be focusing on fulfilling the wishes of another individual.

Not only does it make you complacent with where you are in life, but it makes you boring. When your business is at stake and your future is resting on your shoulders, the last thing you need is to be bogged down by an insecure lover rushing you home.

How Entrepreneurial Singles Can Build a Business and Still Find Love

The social freedoms you enjoyed before joining the rat race take a hit once you’re working for The Man. Unfortunately for singles, this can be hazardous for your dating life. For busy professionals, the idea of “finding someone” might seem like a daunting task. With deadlines, work dinners, and meetings galore, trying to meet someone often falls to the very end of your to do list. If you’re an introvert as it is , your social meter is way too drained from small talk with colleagues to even think about introducing yourself to a cute random.

This is why dating apps were invented though: to make online dating way easier, enabling you to use your free time wisely.

Last week I came across a great article at Elite Daily entitled “Why It Is The girl you are dating needs to understand that and be supportive.

Besides the government, even everyday people love entrepreneurs. But then, before you jump into a relationship with one, here are some of the things you should know about dating entrepreneurs. The very fact that your partner is an entrepreneur should tell you about their affinity for risk. Starting a new business and going out on your own requires a certain kind of risk tolerance. You can expect this risk tolerance to show up in your daily affairs. Some of the things they do might come across as irrational or just plain stupid.

This is especially true if you have a very low-risk tolerance. On the bright side, dating an entrepreneur can be good for you as it helps you build your risk tolerance, and accept life as it comes. That often means a lot of their time will be spent focusing on the business, instead of you.

You Don’t Have to Spend Your Twenties Being a Sociopath

I had so many ideas about what my business could ultimately look like, and while I enjoyed thinking and writing about my ideas, I felt powerless when it came to creating a sound, reliable strategy and then implementing on that strategy. I was accustomed to keeping my dreams distant-future-focused and hypothetical, where it felt safer. I felt really loyal to the company I was working for at the time.

Then we heard that the company, was acquired again by Bustle, an online media company aimed at millennial women. Andrew : Hey, everyone. My name is Andrew Warner. How do you make a real business around it? It feels like software is a better way to go. In , he helped create a company called Elite Daily. He then sold it in to DMG Media, if you know the Daily Mail, that publication, then you know the company that bought them out, and they sold for a really impressive amount of money considering how little they got in investment and how short a run they had with it.

I want to find out how he did it. I also want to find out about his current business. He is now running Fownders. It helps millennials form and grow businesses. Sometimes that means from scratch as entrepreneurs like you and I are doing.
